Empowering TransTech: E.C. Pizarro III's Legacy of Growth, Innovation, and Transition

After three transformative years as Executive Director of TransTech Social, E.C Pizarro III is announcing a significant transition from this leadership role with the organization. Under his leadership, TransTech Social has seen unprecedented growth, with membership numbers tripling and overall community engagement more than doubling. These years have been marked by significant accomplishments that will ensure the organization’s lasting impact and continued success in the tech space for trans and gender non-conforming people.

“I am incredibly proud of the progress the team and I have made together,” said Pizarro. “The community we’ve built has become a beacon of opportunity, support, and visibility for trans professionals in the tech industry. Our growth is proof of the resilience and talent within our community, and I leave with the confidence that TransTech will continue to thrive.”

As Executive Director, Pizarro was able to secure nearly $1 million in program and operational funding, proving TransTech’s sustainability. In his time, Pizarro notes one of his most significant accomplishments has been to stamp TransTech Social as a founding partner of the Stonewall National Monument and Visitor Center, demonstrating its commitment to preserving the history of LGBTQ+ activism. Through key partnerships like CareerCircle and Google.Org, Pizarro was able to expand opportunities for TransTech’s members, offering them Google Certifications and comprehensive career support, bridging the gap between the tech industry and the trans community.

In addition to these achievements, Pizarro led the charge in securing paid internships for product development with the popular dating app Hinge, further providing TransTech members with hands-on experience and invaluable career-building opportunities. Additionally, the annual TransTech Summit saw a 135% surge in attendance under his leadership, a testament to the growing reach and impact of the organization.

“Securing these partnerships and building meaningful connections has been one of my greatest joys,” E.C. continued. “I am deeply grateful to our partners and supporters, as well as the members of TransTech Social who trusted me to lead this incredible organization.”

As Pizarro transitions out of this position, TransTech Social is preparing to welcome back its visionary founder, Miss Angelica Ross, as active CEO. Known for her trailblazing leadership and deep commitment to empowering trans people through tech, Miss Ross’s return comes at a pivotal time in her career. She is focused on building on TransTech’s capacity and fundraising for its long-term sustainability, while embarking on a historic political journey to serve and protect our community through public policy, further cementing her role as a leader in the LGBTQ+ community.

“This leadership transition is more than just a passing of the torch,” Pizarro noted. “Miss Ross’s return signifies yet another evolution for TransTech. Her upcoming projects, including her run for public office, will undoubtedly continue the legacy of empowerment, creativity, and transformation that has always been at the heart of TransTech’s mission.”

Over the next month, the leadership transition will unfold to ensure a smooth handover and sustained support for TransTech’s vibrant and growing community. E.C.’s tenure has left an invaluable mark on the organization, setting the stage for continued growth, innovation, and empowerment for trans professionals in tech.

“I am really proud of the growth that has happened over the past 3 years under E.C.’s direction.  His contributions to TransTech are invaluable and we could never repay him enough for his dedication and the way he continued to go above and beyond for community. I can’t wait to see what E.C. does next” Miss Ross noted.
